Gerald Ross
An experienced musician, Gerald Ross is equally at home in a concert hall or on a small club stage. He has performed in concert with Bonnie Raitt, Arlo Guthrie, Doc Watson, Johnny Gimble, Riders In The Sky, Brownie McGhee and other nationally known artists. He was the winner of the 1993 WEMU Jazz Competition (solo artist). Other radio work includes appearances on National Public Radio’s ‘A Prairie Home Companion’. He has been a featured performer at The Windy City Ukulele Festival, New York Uke Fest, The Puget Sound Guitar Workshop, Ashokan Western and Swing Week, The Augusta Heritage Swing Week, and The Portland Ukefest.
Today, however, Gerald Ross is known more for his work with the ukulele and Hawaiian lap steel guitar and has recorded five solo CD’s. In addition to being an extremely polished performer, Gerald is a prepared, organized, and thoughtful teacher, and such a nice guy! Whew! It’s no wonder Gerald Ross has been called an entire music camp and festival in one.

Craig Chee
Wanting to bring something to share on the mainland, Craig chose to focus on the ukulele before leaving Hawai’i for college. Although Craig had grown up playing the cello and piano, he wanted something that gave a little more distinction of coming from the islands.
During Christmas and summer breaks of his Freshman year at the University of Oregon, Craig has had the pleasure of studying under Jake Shimabukuro and Troy Fernandez. Jake has been a continual inspiration and a mentor. Ever since then Craig has been trying to further experiment with the ukulele in settings that aren’t typically associated with the instrument.
Craig is currently working with Sean Ponder, Theo Halpert and Joey Hepner creating a sound that is a mix of Island, rock, and funk. The Craig Chee Band will get you on your feet dancing and is described as being “an extremely fun collaboration of musicians.” They hope to have a full album finished by this year!
From workshops to individual lessons, Craig has been teaching throughout the past 4 years and couldn’t be happier. Craig often remarks “if I’m not playing at any given moment, I hope to be teaching!” From the Seattle Ukulele Festival to the Oregon Country Fair (a few surprises for this year to be unveiled soon!) Craig hopes to travel and share his passion for the ukulele and expand on how people view the instrument!

Dominator
Dominator began playing the ‘ukulele after visiting the island of Kaua’i in 1999, where hediscovered the “joy of such an unassuming instrument.” Returning home to Northern California, he put his musical background to work, puzzling out how to capture the joy and nuances of the songs he’d heard on his trip. The results of his efforts are posted on his website, which features a myriad of Dominator-created tabs and transcriptions from a treasury of ‘ukulele artists. Dominator’s enthusiasm for the ‘ukulele—as well as his generosity in sharing his wealth of knowledge—has touched the hearts of hundreds of ‘ukulele players around the world. His detailed tabs, transcriptions and YouTube video lessons, guide “new” and “old” ‘ukulele musicians to become better players, one song at a time.

Jon Prown
After playing finger style and rock guitar for about 30 years–with a brief banjo foray taken in the early 1980s–Jon discovered the uke in June 2005 and now pretty much only plays the uke (as well as a five-string banjo with a capo at the 5th and tuned like an uke). His is primarily focused on playing solo instrumental versions of well-known songs from the 1920s to the 1970s. He is also inspired by the technical virtuosity, song-writing abilities, and arranging prowess of Jake Shimabukuro, James Hill, and other progressive uke players.

The Milwaukee Ukulele Club
The Milwaukee Ukulele Club was founded by Lil Rev in 2009 in Bay View, WI. Originally it was a small handful of people who met at the home of Cherylann Kelly. Soon the group moved Anodyne Coffee and have bounced around a number of different locations since that time including the Downtown Library and the Jewish Community Center.
Today the group numbers over 40 members and is growing every month. The group’s songbook is made up of popular classics from the Folk, Blues, Tin Pan Alley, World and Rock genres. We get together to sing, laugh and celebrate life thru the joy of the Ukulele.
Our members run the gamut from complete beginner to advanced solists. We love to sing in the community at Retirement homes, Festivals and in the Park.
